Frequently Asked Questions

What does a typical day at 4 Paws Country Kennels look like?

Your dog spends the day on our one-acre fenced property with supervised outdoor play, time in our doggy splash zone, and social interaction with other dogs. Our team manages the day to make sure every dog stays active, safe, and engaged. You drop off a dog full of energy and pick up a tired, happy pup at the end of the day.

None. We welcome all breeds, all sizes, and all temperaments. If your dog does better with less group interaction, let us know when you book, and we will tailor their day accordingly. Every dog deserves a great day, regardless of breed.

Our pricing works like a hotel stay: if your dog is on the property, it counts as a full day. There are no half-day rates, no hidden fees, and no complicated add-ons. Call us at 719-660-1260 or visit our contact page for current daycare rates.

All dogs must be current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), and Bordetella vaccinations before their first visit. Bring documentation at drop-off. If you have questions about what to bring or what to expect on the first day, our team is happy to walk you through it when you call.

Dog parks are unstructured environments where dogs of unknown temperament, vaccination status, and social history interact without supervision or intervention. For dogs with any degree of anxiety or reactivity, dog parks can rehearse stress responses rather than resolve them. Structured dog daycare at 4 Paws Country Kennels is supervised continuously by staff trained to read body language and intervene before tension escalates. Dogs are assessed before joining any group, rest periods are built into the day to prevent over-arousal, and dogs that do better without group play are managed on individual rotations.

Drop-off is one of the highest-stress moments in a daycare experience, and we address it intentionally. Before a first visit, we gather information about your dog’s known triggers and stress signals. On arrival, dogs are allowed to approach the space at their own pace rather than being rushed through a transition. Dogs showing signs of elevated stress are given time to acclimate before joining any group activity. Familiar items from home, such as a worn blanket or piece of clothing, are welcomed and used to provide comfort in an unfamiliar space.

At 4Paws, it’s not just day care, it’s a day of joy, freedom, and friendship. Bring your dog for the fun, and pick up a tired, happy pup at the end of the day!
